Patsy Mae Davis Durst, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and devoted servant of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on
August 20, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born on June 3, 1938, to Jefferson Davis and Addie Mae Hill Davis,
Patsy lived a life filled with love, faith, and service to others. Patsy married the love of her life, James Durst, on April 27, 1956, beginning a beautiful partnership that would span many decades. Together, they were blessed with three daughters: Terry (preceded in death by her husband Tim) Way, Jamey (Ken) Allen, and Kimberly (Kevin) Miller.

As a devoted grandmother, Patsy cherished her role as "Nana" to her six grandchildren: Brittany Way, Christopher (Lauren) Crites, Aaron Way, Kelly Crites, Andrew Miller, and Kingston Miller. She was also blessed with
great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Her family was the center of her world, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through generations.

Patsy graduated as a Boerne Greyhound in May of 1956, where she distinguished herself as both a basketball star and an avid tennis player, demonstrating the competitive spirit and dedication that would characterize her entire life.

A true woman of faith, Patsy dedicated her life to serving Jesus Christ and her community. She wore many hats throughout her life: song writer, singer, poet, pianist, organist, Sunday school teacher, marriage counselor, intercessor, peacemaker, and recruiter of souls for Christ.

Her musical talents were legendary within her family and community. Patsy had an extraordinary gift for playing "Boogie Woogie" and was known for leading worship and directing choirs as part of "The Sounds of Praise." Her home was filled with music, laughter, and faith, with cherished family memories of watching her and Uncle Johnny dance and listening to her harmonize with Aunt Martha.

Patsy was an amazing, Godly woman who prayed daily over her family members. She loved deeply and had a gentle listening ear. Her resilience was remarkable - she spent many years wheelchair bound due to health issues, yet continued to find joy in singing, laughing, and spending precious time with those she loved.

Through the powerful example of Godly living, Patsy became a spiritual mentor not only to her daughters but also to extended family and countless others in her community. Her life served as the truest testimony of the fruits of the spirit.

Our earthly time with those we love is never enough; however, there is no doubt that Patsy is now singing with a chorus of angels in heaven and is completely at peace with her new destination. May her memory live on in our hearts, and may we embody her love for Christ in our daily lives.

Patsy Mae Durst lived a life of purpose, touching hearts through her ministry, music, and unwavering faith. She was a loving mother who nurtured her children's spiritual growth, a devoted wife who built a strong Christian home, and a woman whose influence extended far beyond her immediate family.

Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the songs she wrote, the souls she helped guide to Christ, and the loving family she raised. Patsy's life exemplified grace, love, and faithful service to God and others.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
