Andy Petty Obituary
Mr. Petty passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, at Jackson General Hospital.
Mr. Andy was born to the late Bryant and Ola Petty on February 16, 1940. Andy owned a service station in Milan with his brother, Dan for many years. Andy always had a big garden that he shared with family and friends. Andy liked to tinker with his tractor and do bush hogging in his spare time. When he retired, you could always find him at Huddle House or Walmart. He was well known and loved in the community.
Andy was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Petty; sons, Leon Strickland and Shelton Petty; daughter, Judy Gobble; granddaughter, Stephanie Ray; siblings, Willie Shelton, Elizabeth Acklin, Amos Petty, Kate Harris, Jim Ruth Prince, Mary Branham, and Dan Petty.
He is survived by his children, Danny Goble, Debbie Petty Denton, Tony Petty, and Tammy (Carl) Glidwell; grandchildren, Lynn (James) Anderson, Matt (Sam) Denton, Enjoli Goble, Zac Devine, Ashley Petty, Hollie (JT) Petty, Jennifer (Daniel) Guy, and Brindy Glidwell; special niece, Dana (Jerry) Smith; and special friend, Margaret Pennington; 21 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces nephews and other family members.
Andy will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

We will always remember and cherish Andy's hospitality and love he gave and showed toward us and our children everytime we were at Church. He would always have his bag of candy to hold out to the girls and let them get their pick of what they wanted. He always had a smile for us as he greeted us hello. Though days and years got in the way, he will forever have his place in our hearts and lives. We love you Brother Andy.
