Patsy Laverne Elam

Patsy "Pat" Laverne Elam, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Duncan, Oklahoma. She was born April 9, 1933, in Alma, Oklahoma, to Talley and Ruby (Pierce) Trawick.
Pat graduated from Duncan High School in 1950. That same year, on June 3, she married the love of her life, Theodore Richard Elam. Together they built a devoted partnership and raised two children, Bruce and Tara, who remained the pride of her life.
A dedicated and skilled professional, Pat worked for Halliburton for 25 years as an administrative assistant. She also served as a stenographer at the Stephens County Courthouse, where her sharp mind, steady presence, and strong work ethic were deeply valued.
Outside of work, Pat embraced life with joy. She loved reading, dancing, and traveling-especially trips to the beach, where she found peace and happiness. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore; her brother, G.W. Trawick; and her sisters, Darlene Wood and Delores Trawick.
She is survived by her children: Bruce Elam and wife Pat of Norman, Oklahoma, and Tara Ley and husband David of St. Austell, England; her grandchildren: Jason Elam, Joshua Elam (Amber), Chelsea Yamamoto (Cody), and Alex Ley (Liz); her great-grandchildren: Willow Elam, Kameron Cempa, Ezrah Cempa (Felicia), and Richard Elam; her great-great-grandchildren: Evelyn Cempa and Jonah Cempa; her brother, Larry Trawick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is planned for 1:30 P.M., Thursday, April 23, at First Christian Church. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
