On Saturday, December 28, 2024, God welcomed Patsy Crabtree Erickson - daughter, sister, and faithful servant of Christ, into His loving arms in Heaven. She had been a resident at The Grove in Jacksonville, IL.
Born Oct. 11,1933 to Charles T. Hicks & Norma L. Crabtree in Roodhouse, IL. She is survived by her sister Joyce Mallicoat, great nephews Andre (Colin) Chavez wife Ashley, and Michael Joseph (Joe) Mallicoat wife Crystal.
As a young girl, she began teaching Sunday School at First Christian Church in Roodhouse & continued that life mission of sharing God's love to the hearts of children until November 2010 at First Christian Church in Jacksonville, IL.
After graduating from Roodhouse High School in 1951, her family moved to Jacksonville, IL. where Patsy began her 40+ years of work at GTE as a telephone switchboard operator; she was employed until the closing of that facility. Patsy was instrumental in starting the Jacksonville Museum, which began at Illinois School for the Deaf. She is listed as an emeritus member of the board.
Patsy loved the Lord, her family, friends & animals. Her smile & hugs were always welcome to everyone. The Joy of the Lord was her strength. Condolences may be sent to: Joyce Mallicoat, #20 Jacksonville Place, Jacksonville, IL 62650.
Thanks to the staff & hospice care at The Grove for their love for Patsy.
