Patsy Everhart Obituary

Patsy J. (Lykins) Everhart, 71, of Lakeview was serenaded by angels to the heavenly throne as she departed this life from her home in Lakeview on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Patsy (Patti) was born on October 6, 1950, in Vanceburg, Lewis County, KY to Forrest and Helen Lykins. In May of 1955, the family moved to Lewistown, OH.
Patti was the third of what would be a family of five red-headed daughters and two brothers. Sharon May (Tom) Nuss, Karen Kay (Terry) Bothel, Deborah Sue Morris, Rebecca June (Eddie) Cooper and Terril Wayne (Chris) Lykins. Her brother Timothy Allen Lykins preceded her in death in November 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Forrest E. Lykins (October 2004) and Helen V. Mustard Lykins (July 2019).
In April of 1979 the very reluctant divorced mother of two daughters started a courtship with her now husband Samuel (Sam) Everhart. After a spring and early summer courtship, they were married 120 days later in August 1979. Sam survives along with children, Jennifer Lynn Thurman (Marty) Smith, Stefanie Ann Everhart, David Patrick Everhart (Emily). Daughter Audra Sue Thurman (Andrew) Karns preceded her in death in August 2001. She is also survived by her three grandsons: Jared, Jordan, and Joel; eight granddaughters: Meghan, Heidi, Hannah, Hailey, Caraleena, Samantha, Abigail, and Charlotte; and four great grandchildren: Lucas, Mara, Darci Rae and Aurora. She is survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Patti was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.
Patti loved being a grandmother. One of her favorite things was to have her grandchildren come for a visit and watch them go right to the kitchen to see what leftovers and/or snacks were available.
Patti graduated in 1968 from Indian Lake High School. In her early adult years, Patti worked at Westbay Office Supplies in Bellefontaine for 8 years. Later she worked 13 years for GMS/Superfoods. When her son David reached 6 years old, she quit to become a full-time stay-at-home mother. For a while she did childcare for some Indian Lake Educators and was greatly loved by the children she cared for.
In the last few years, she became very involved in quilting. Her friends lovingly finished the last quilt she started named "Audra" one week before she passed away.
Patti enjoyed traveling with her sisters, children, and friends (while her husband stayed at home working) and attending Church of God camp meetings. Her travels took her to Grand Cayman, Alabama, Arizona, California, Virginia, Florida, and the state of Washington.
In 1955 when her family moved from Kentucky to Ohio, she began attending Mt. Tabor Church of God and worshipped there from that time on. Patti often spoke about the two women that had a major impact in her spiritual life, her grandmother Cordia (Botkins) Lykins and her own mother. She cherished her father-in-law Elder Paul Everhart (deceased) who treated her as a daughter.
Patti was very spunky and she will be greatly missed by her husband, children and grandchildren, family & friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Mt. Tabor Church of God with Pastor Nathan Price officiating. Burial will follow at Huntsville Cemetery, Huntsville, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – until the start of the services.
The family would like to thank her siblings, friends, sister-in-law and nieces, and Universal Home Health & Hospice Care for helping to provide care for Patti over the last couple of months.
The family would also like to thank Sam's employer, Daido Metal USA in Bellefontaine, OH, who gave him the flexibility over the last 19 months to be the primary caregiver for his wife.
Memorial contributions can be made, in Patti's memory, to Mt. Tabor Church of God, 8113 Co. Rd. 13, DeGraff, Ohio 43318.
