Peggy Jean Young, age 90 of Millersville passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 at her home. She was born March 2, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN to Robert Lee & Maude May Cole McMurtry. She worked as a homemaker, was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bingo. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Ray Young; son, Lonney Ray Young; 2 daughters, Bobby Jean Abbott and Sherry Denise Clendening; grandson, Joey Anthony Birdwell; 2 sisters, Viva Lois Savage and Evelyn Ray McMurtry; brother, Jackie Bedford McMurtry. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Young, Millersville, TN; 4 grandchildren, Michael Ryan Birdwell, Samantha Davenport, Lori Abbott and Krista Paul; 7 great grandchildren. Funeral service is scheduled for 1pm Thursday, February 19, 2026 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Pastor Jon Briggs officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hil Cemetery on Dividing Ridge Road with Charles Young, Paul Young, Michael Birdwell, Cameron Birdwell, Thomas Young and Randy Young serving as pallbearers. Visitation is planned for Thursday, February 19, 2026 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
