Patsy Ann Freeman, born on December 1, 1939, in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and resilience. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband of 56 years, James Freeman, who preceded her in death, as well as a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Patsy began her education at Little Rock High School, where she proudly graduated in 1958. This year marked a historical moment in Little Rock, and Patsy was an eyewitness to the significant events that shaped her community and country.
After contributing over 25 years of dedicated service as a machinist at AT&T Teletype, Patsy embraced retirement with enthusiasm. Her passion for creativity flourished, showcasing her talent as a master seamstress. She meticulously crafted matching square-dancing attire for herself and James, and lovingly sewed clothing for her children, demonstrating her nurturing spirit. Patsy was also an active member of the Saline County Quilt Guild, where her quilts earned numerous blue ribbons at the Saline County Fair, reflecting her dedication and skill.
Patsy cherished her time spent with family. Memories of long motorcycle trips and adventurous motorhome excursions with James brought her immense joy. She greatly valued moments filled with laughter, often gathered around the table playing board games, dominos, and cards, forging strong bonds with her loved ones.
Patsy had a remarkable green thumb. She found tranquility and happiness in nurturing her plants and reveling in the beauty of seasonal flowers. Birdwatching, especially observing hummingbirds, was another of her cherished pastimes.
Patsy is survived by her three children, Edie Pitts (Terry), Carolyn McGinnis (Chris), and James Freeman (Laura); her grandchildren, Aaron Pitts (Kristin), Austin Pitts (Jessica), Timothy Freeman, Nicholas Freeman (Sire), Leah Ramos (Jonathan), and Kristen Taylor; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler Pitts, Mason Pitts, Mia Freeman, and Remy Freeman. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Don Freeman (Marie), as well as a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Pannell and Rosa Williams as well as her brother, Floyd Pannell.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street).
Patsy Ann Freeman’s impact on those she loved and the community she served will be felt for generations. Her warmth, kindness, and creativity will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
