Patsy Ruth Girard

Patsy Ruth Girard, age 91, long-time resident of Texas, passed away peacefully on January 28, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 19, 1935, in Jefferson, Texas.

After attending secretarial school, Patsy went on to earn her associate's degree. She was a talented seamstress with a creative spirit and found great joy in craft projects. She also volunteered much of her time to local hospitals. Above all else, Patsy loved her family deeply and devoted her life to them. Her warmth, care, and quiet strength were felt by all who knew her, and her presence will be dearly missed.

Patsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Joseph Girard; her parents, Francis Livingston Walker Smith and James Larkin Smith; and nine siblings.

She is survived by her four children, Vicki Batson Aliff, Pamela Batson House, Gregory O'Neill Batson, and Melanie Jessica Girard; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and her brother, Tony Wray Smith, all of whom she loved dearly.

An inurnment will be held on February 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park,

Rockwall, Texas 75087.
