Patsy Willis Goodman passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at Cypress Pond in Tifton, Georgia. Born on July 17, 1937, in Tifton, she lived a life filled with devotion to her family.
For 40 years, Patsy served as a school bus driver for the Tift County Board of Education, a role that allowed her to impact the lives of countless children. Her commitment to safety and kindness was evident every day on her route, earning her the respect and gratitude of parents and children alike.
Patsy was a proud graduate of Tift County High School and demonstrated her commitment to education through her career and her love for her family. She was a wonderful cook and caregiver, often preparing meals that brought her family together. Known for her nurturing spirit, Patsy cherished her children and grandchildren equally, ensuring that none felt favored over another.
She was married to her loving husband Wilbur Goodman for 60 years before his death on February 28, 2016, sharing a life filled with memories, partnership, and joy. Her surviving family extends to include her sons Charles Goodman and his wife Sylvia, Clay Goodman, and Chris Goodman and his wife Lisa, along with her daughter-in-law Keelie Goodman. Additionally, she leaves behind her brother-in-law Jackie Rigsby, sister-in-law Laverne Willis, nine grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, who will carry on her legacy of love and kindness.
In addition to her husband, Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Patrick Charles Willis and Sarah West Willis, and her son Craig Goodman. She is also reunited with her brother Charles O. Willis and sister Mary Katherine Willis Rigsby, as well as daughter-in-law Denise Goodman. Her presence will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Albritton Funeral Directors, located at 1020 Tift Ave N, Tifton, GA on September 25, 2025, from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 2:00 PM with Reverend Chris House and Michael Goodman officiating. The interment will follow the service at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Patsy Willis Goodman was of the Baptist faith and she lived a life that was a testament to unwavering commitment, kindness, and love that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
Pall bearers for Mrs. Goodman will be Justin Goodman, Michael Goodman, Hardy Goodman, Josh Goodman, Chase Goodman, Patrick Willis and Matt Rigsby. Cypress Pond staff and residents will serve as honorary pall bearers.
