Patsy Graves Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home - Giddings on Jan. 27, 2026.
Patsy Terry Graves, 87, passed peacefully into the arms of Christ on January 22, 2026.

Patsy was born on September 30, 1938, in Olton, Texas, to Elsie Lee Terry and Edra Jewel Donahue. She carried a lifelong love of learning and service, both of which shaped her personal life and professional career.

Patsy earned a Doctorate in Education from North Texas State University, though she always lovingly claimed Mary Hardin Baylor as her original alma mater. Her passion for education spanned 38 years, during which she taught homemaking and later computer science at both the high school and college levels. She retired from Lexington Independent School District, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and impact on countless students.

Early in life, Patsy married Jim Rich of Arkansas. Later, she married Thomas "Tommy" Graves of Louisiana, with whom she shared many meaningful years.

Family was at the heart of Patsy's life. She took genuine interest in the activities and passions of her children and grandchildren, attending every game and proudly owning every team shirt. Patsy was a natural encourager, known for her ability to truly listen. Many entered her presence feeling worn down and left feeling loved, supported, and uplifted.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie Lee Terry and Edna Jewel Donahue; her husband, Thomas "Tommy" Graves; her daughter, Kim; and her brothers, Vaughn and Mac.

She is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Billings, and her husband, Chris; their children, Kaitlyn, Kelli, Justin, and Tristan; her son in law, Delbert; her granddaughter, Robyn, and her husband, Patrick; and their children, Blake and Ty.

A Memorial Service honoring Patsy's life will be posted at a later date. No visitation or graveside service will be held.
