Patsy Hamilton August 19, 1952 – June 12, 2025
Heaven gained a special angel on Thursday, June 12, 2025, when Patricia Ashmore Hamilton, lovingly known as "Patsy," left her earthly body at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi after a long battle with liver cancer.
Patsy was born August 19, 1952 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, the third child of Frank and Maudie Jacks Ashmore. Life took Patsy on many adventures, but she eventually settled down and married James "Hambone" Hamilton, Jr. and spent much of her adult life in Tutwiler, Mississippi. If you were ever looking for Patsy, you would likely find her in the kitchen, where she spent a lot of weekends cooking breakfast for all the kids that she woke up to at her house! Her professional life was largely spent devoted to Infolab in Clarksdale where she first served in Accounts Receivable, then later as the "tax lady." She became part of the Spradling family through her work there, and remained so until she left this earth.
To know Patsy was to love her. If you were fortunate enough to cross paths with her, you didn't just meet an acquaintance-you made a lifelong friend. Devoted sister, wife, mother, aunt, and friend, are words that fall short of describing how much she truly meant to those she met. And if you were lucky enough to taste her cooking, you know it was made with love-and it was delicious! Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband "Hambone," her sister Alice (Jefcoat), and her nephew Stevie Jefcoat. She leaves behind two sons, Will Tippitt of Clarksdale, and Totten Hamilton of Lambert; her sister Judy (Peacock) of Hernando; her granddaughter, Leah Grace Tippitt; her great-granddaughter, Everly; her very special niece, Amy Peacock, who rarely left her side during her illness; and a whole host of other special nieces, nephews, family, and friends that are too numerous to name, but none ever forgotten.
In keeping with Patsy's wishes, no formal service will be held. The family will honor her memory with a celebration of life later this year to remember her the way she would have wanted-full of laughter, love, and stories. Thank you for every call, message, prayer, and act of kindness shown to Patsy and her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in her memory. Meredith Nowell Funeral Home home is handling the arrangements. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Patsy Ashmore Hamilton, please visit our Tree Store.
