Patsy Hoback Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Compassion Funeral & Cremation Services - Nashville on Mar. 11, 2026.
Patsy Gail (McNeese) Hoback of Joelton, Tennessee, a good and faithful servant of the Lord, concluded her beautiful life on March 10, 2026, at the age of 76 years old. She was surrounded by family and love and left this earth with peace as she passed into the arms of Jesus.

Born on December 20, 1949, in Nashville, as the third child of James and Sarah.

McNeese, she lived her entire life in Middle Tennessee. A 1967 graduate of East Nashville High School, she soon after met and married the love of her life, Scott Hoback, with whom she was married for 55 years. Together they had two children, a boy and a girl, and raised them with a life of extended family, trips to the mountains of Tennessee, and, in later years, to the beloved spot of Tybee Island in Coastal Georgia.

Patsy was a lifelong member of her father's founded church, The House of Righteous Endeavor in Joelton, Tennessee. In her younger years, she worked diligently in the insurance industry, eventually transitioning to employment aligned with her interests in thrifting, antiquing, and her particular love of all things Victorian. Her home was filled with the unique treasures she had collected over the years, which brought her such personal joy.

A creative soul, she had many artistic gifts, not the least of which was music. Her talented piano playing often accompanied her beautiful singing, and she would delight her grandchildren with music whenever they came to spend time with her.

Known affectionately to her grandchildren as "Pat", she is survived by her loving and dedicated husband Scott Hoback, her son Jason Hoback (husband of Valerie), her daughter Jennifer Ginnings and son-in-law Gary Ginnings, grandsons Caleb Ginnings and Wyatt Hoback, granddaughters Kaylee Heggie (wife of Kyle), Abigail Hoback, and Emma Hoback and great-grandchildren Harrison Heggie and Hallie Heggie. She is also survived by her sisters Judy Eidson (wife of David) and Sheila Coleman (wife of Jimmy), and many beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James McNeese, and his wife, Brenda.

In lieu of a formal service, the family encourages friends and loved ones to take some moments with others to honor Pasty in a way that would be meaningful to her. Sing some favorite hymns, go find some treasure at a thrift store, or simply share some favorite memories – and keep telling those stories, so that Patsy will stay alive in our hearts and minds for years to come.
