Funeral services will be held for Pasty Bee Street Hoover, 3 PM Friday, March 14, 2025 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Visitation will be prior to the service, in the Parlor at St. Paul’s from 1pm to 2:45 pm. Rev Dick Humphries will be officiating. Pat went to be with the Lord and reunited with loved ones March 1, 2025, after a short battle with Leukemia. She was born in Spur, Texas, August 31, 1940, and grew up in Littlefield, Texas. She graduated from Littlefield High School, attended Texas Tech University, and ULM, studying piano and music theory.
Pat and Joe started their life together in Chattanooga, TN before moving to Cheraw, South Carolina. They made their forever home in Monroe, LA, where she began a passionate career at Strauss Theatre. After 28 years she retired as Managing Director. Upon her retirement the board recognized her contributions and accomplishments by honoring Pat as a life patron. She also spent many joyous years teaching piano to countless children of Monroe in her home. Pat loved all things Broadway, Neville football, and traveling, but her main focus in life was family and church. She was a charter member of PEO AZ Chapter, Methodist Woman of the Year in 1986, United Methodist Women president 2009-2011 and a member of the Chancellor Choir at St. Paul’s. Pat and Joe volunteered for 25 years as Youth Coordinators for St. Paul’s United Methodist Youth Group. The lasting friendships she had with the young people of St. Paul’s UMYF and the fellow counselors were one of her greatest pleasures in life. Also at St. Paul’s, she enjoyed the Spirit Builders Sunday School class and leading the devoted small group, Mary Henry Circle.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Shelley Hislop(Mike) of Alexandria, LA, Dan Hoover (Melissa) and Lesley Hoover, both of Monroe, LA, grandchildren Ben Hislop, Morgan Boyd(Tyler) , Rachel Calloway(Will), Madison Hoover, all of Monroe, Grant Hislop of Dallas, TX , Clay Hislop of Panama City, FL, great grandsons Mason Boyd, Cliff Calloway and Brewer Boyd, sisters- in- law Linda Schkade(Fred) of Tehachapi, CA and Susan Hoover of Cary, NC, 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Joe Hoover, parents Louise and Bee Street, brother Rodney Street, mother- in- law and father- in- law Lura and Huston Hoover, and brother- in- law Bob Hoover.
