Patsy Howard-McClung, age 77, passed away Sunday evening, April 20, 2025 in Idalou, Texas following an illness. A Graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, April 26, 2025 from the Garden of Love at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Randal Howard, Beau Howard, Blake Howard, Cash Howard, Ben Ratcliffe.
Patsy was born June 2, 1947 in Clovis, NM to the home of Charlie Weldon Rodgers and Addie Louise (Barnett) Rodgers. She attended Fort Sumner schools. Patsy received a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Lubbock Christian University. She worked in the administration office at Lubbock Christian University and as a bookkeeper for the McClung Family. She was a member of the Church of Christ, a member of the Ladies Bible Class, Church Prayer Groups, and taught Bible classes.
Patsy made her home in Lubbock, Amarillo, Claude, Texas, Del Norte Colorado, and Logan, New Mexico. She married Lowell Howard in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, he preceded her in death on on August 6, 1984, she later married Woodie McClung in Lubbock, TX he preceded her in death on June 12, 2022. Patsy is also preceded in death by her parents, father Weldon Rodgers on April 27, 1998, mother Louise Rodgers on February 6, 2017, father in law Lowell Andrew Howard on August 14, 1991, and mother in law Myrtle Howard on May 22, 2002.
Survivors include two sons and their families, Scott Howard and his wife Rhonda of Lubbock, Texas, Randy Howard and his wife Kristi of Idalou, Texas, two step-daughters and their families Debbie Horn and her husband David, Mindi Aleme and her husband Dereje, two step-sons and their families Shane McClung and his wife Melissa, and Mark McClung and his wife Mindy. Also surviving is a brother Bill Rodgers of Littlefield, TX and a sister Luann Holland of Vernon, TX.
