Patsy Jane Hudson, a beloved mother and friend, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on November 15, 1936, in Allen County, Kentucky, to the late Roy and Goldie Gass. Patsy lived a full and joyful life, marked by her love for family, friends, and the simple pleasures of everyday living.
She spent her childhood split between her parent’s farm in Kentucky and an orange grove in Florida—memories she always cherished. That is where she married her first husband Henry Edgar Whitaker, in Titusville, Florida. After a divorce in the early 70’s, she would later marry Jack B. Hudson, in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Patsy was known for her entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of and operator of two women’s clothing stores, where she connected with many through her warmth, kindness, and love of fashion. After years of hard work, she retired and moved to sunny Florida. There, she enjoyed golfing with friends, relaxing by the pool, and working also at a car auction.
After the passing of her husband Jack, she moved in April of 2010 to her daughter and son-in-law’s home located on a 33 acre hobby farm in Tennessee. There she embraced the peaceful countryside and especially loved mowing the land on her John Deer lawn mower and also gardening.
A woman of many interests, Patsy deeply loved her family and also enjoyed staying engaged with technology. She spent countless hours on her I-pad putting puzzles together and paint-by-number apps, keeping her mind active and sharp throughout her later years.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Patsy was preceded in death by her brother, Hollis Gass: her sister-in-law, Myrtle Gass; her sister, Bertha Ray Barber; her brother-in-law, Loyd Barber; and her nephew, Jimmy Loyd Barber.
She is survived by her twin daughters, Janice (Bill) Ledford and Janet Whitaker (Grant Satterfield); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Jeremy (Kristy) Hudson, Luke and Drew Hudson; Jennifer (Kyle) Kelly, with baby boy due in April; Amanda (Jeremy) Howell, Kaiden and Knox Howell; Amy (Brett) Hisky, Kamden and Kaceson Hisky; Anna (Sean) Stanfill, Raegan and Ramsey and Reese Stanfill; and niece, Diane (Jim) Miller.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens and Mausoleum on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 12:00 PM.
Though Patsy has left this earthly life, her generous spirit, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
