Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home - Camdenton on Jan. 20, 2026.
Patsy Sue "Pat" Grace Hunter was born on March 30, 1943, in Washington, D.C. She grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she learned the values of faith, family, and hard work that guided her throughout her life. While at the University of the Ozarks in Arkansas, she met Carl, the love of her life, and they were married on June 13, 1965. They moved to
Camdenton, Missouri, Carl's hometown, where together they built a beautiful marriage and family, raised their children, and created a home that was always open and welcoming to all.
A devoted member of Linn Creek Baptist Church, Pat faithfully served for many years by playing the piano, sharing her love of music with her church family. Her faith guided everything she did, and she lived it out daily through kindness, generosity, and service to others.
Pat was a beloved 4th grade teacher whose impact reached far beyond the classroom. She touched countless young lives with patience, encouragement, and kindness. She earned her bachelor's degree in education and later returned to complete her master's degree, a reflection of her lifelong commitment to learning and to the students she loved.
At home, she was the heart of the family-known for her homemade bread, meals shared around the table, and a warmth that made everyone feel welcome. Summers were filled with "cousin camp," laughter, and memories on the farm, where her children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews grew up surrounded by the steady love of Pat and Carl.
She spent countless hours following her kids to ballgames, school events, and activities, and later did the same for her grandchildren. Being in the stands cheering them on was her favorite place to be, and her presence was a constant reminder of unconditional love and support. Her grandchildren's fondest memories were at Grandma and Grandpa's house-a place of comfort, joy, and fun.
Pat is survived by her children, Brad Hunter (Tori), Anna Ford (Matt), Becky Finley (Matt), and Sara Bull (Cody); nine grandchildren: Hunter, Chase, Brady, Levi, Bryant, Blake, Gracelyn, Caleb, and Quinn; her brother, Larry Grace (Sue); and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves behind extended family and friends who were blessed by her life.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl; her parents, Clifton "Jack" and Anna Grace; her in-laws, Tillman and Florence Hunter; and many other close friends and relatives.
Though our hearts are broken, we have peace knowing she is with Jesus, hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Her legacy of faith, love, and hospitality will live on in all of us and in the many lives she touched. She truly was the mom and grandma everyone hopes to have.
