On February 23, 2026, Patsy Ruth Juvrud passed away with family at her side in Tyler, Texas. She was 93 years old.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of almost 65 years, Duane Owen Juvrud; son, William Owen Juvrud; parents, Bill and Pauline Broiles; and sister, Betty Buffington. She is survived by her children: Kathi Juvrud Andis (Dan), Mark Owen Juvrud (Brenda), and Jill Elizabeth Juvrud; five grandchildren: Patrick Andis (Kasey), Danielle Adams (Chad), Amanda Pleming (Chase), Molly Juvrud (Tyson Macomber), and Joseph-Tyler Juvrud (Natalia); and seven great-grandchildren: Kathleen, Cullen and Kassidy Adams; James and Luke Andis; and Everett and Hazel Pleming.

On December 14, 1932, Patsy was born to Bill and Pauline Broiles in Houston, Texas. During her childhood, her family relocated to El Paso, Texas, where she graduated from Austin High School - El Paso. She then attended The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) where she met and fell in love with Duane and was a member of the Chi Omega sorority.

Patsy received many accolades, held several positions, and supported numerous organizations, including the following: El Paso Mother of the Year 1973, Goodwill Hostess with the Mostess, YWCA of El Paso Board of Directors (Vice President and Secretary), Young Matrons, Junior Woman's Club of El Paso (Vice President and Board of Directors), Woman's Department Chamber of Commerce, UTEP Woman's Auxiliary, Chi Omega Alumni Association (President), and The University of Texas School of Law PHT Certificate (Putting Husband Through).

Patsy and Duane were members of the Asbury Methodist and St. Luke Methodist, El Paso. Patsy enjoyed working with her husband, camping, backpacking, and cruising.

Patsy left the following words she wanted to share:

"We are Christian, because of what we believe and how we acted with love and compassion in life. We cursed, drank, and smoked, but never hurt (or intended to hurt) anyone. We were true to ourselves. Our beloved family shall hold what ceremonies that give them pleasure and comfort. Please don't have an ignorant person going on for an extended length or we will come back and haunt you. Love to my children, their spouses, grandchildren, their spouses, and great grandchildren. I have been blessed. I was blessed with the best husband in the world."
