Patsy Largent Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Royer's New Salem Funeral Home - Independence on Oct. 24, 2023.
Patsy B. Largent, 84 of Independence MO, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO. The family will receive visitors prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.
Patsy was born on July 5, 1939 in Mexico MO. She was the daughter of Thomas Clayton Armstrong and Bertha (Bonney) Armstrong. She graduated from Mexico High School in 1957. On November 10, 1961, Patsy and Otis Largent were united in marriage. She raised three children. She worked for Yellow Freight for many years as a data entry specialist. She also worked at Cargo Largo, for many years, as a claim's processor utilizing skills she acquired from years of doing genealogy. She also worked at the Department of Homeland Security processing Visa applications, until she retired. Patsy enjoyed being outside, tending to her flower garden, quilting, and watching detective TV shows (Perry Mason and Murder She Wrote). She loved to watch all the different types of birds, squirrels and raccoons that would visit her bird feeders. Patsy was fiercely attentive to family matters and was always ready to listen, lend a hand, or offer guidance. It was not uncommon for her to go to great lengths to help someone or make someone's day. Pasty also took great pleasure in researching genealogy tracing all the way back to the 1700's. She loved telling interesting stories and tidbits of her family's shared history.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Webb; brother-in-law, Preston Fairley; son-in-law, Stephen Thomason; husband of 44 years, Otis (Bill) Largent, sister, Barbara Miller.
Patsy is survived by her son, Clint Largent of Independence, MO; daughter, Jody Thomason of Blue Springs MO; son, Clay (Cindy) Largent of Independence, MO, grandchildren: Jennifer Carpenter, Jaden Thomason, Addison Thomason; step grandchildren: Sean and Ian Schult; great grandchildren: Shawn, Vivian and T.J. Carpenter; sister, Judy Fairley; brother, Ronnie Webb; sister-in-law, Alta Wilkerson and several nieces and nephews.
