Patsy Ausmus Miracle, age 72, of Cumberland Gap, TN, passed away peacefully at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, TN, on Friday, September 12, 2025. She was born on May 4, 1952 in Middlesboro, KY, to the late E.W. Johnson and Beaulah Davis Johnson Holman.
Patsy was a founder and lifelong member of Old Yellow Creek Baptist Church #2, Middlesboro, KY. She enjoyed being outdoors, sitting on her back porch watching the activity of all the critters in her yard or tending to the flowers she loved to grow. In her younger years, she could pitch a mean horseshoe and loved a little friendly competition. Most of all, she enjoyed taking care of her family who were her greatest joy.
In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Ausmus and sisters, Lois Gibbons and Carolyn Wagner.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Thomas “Jeff” Miracle; sons, Jerry Shane (Mandy) Ausmus and Jason Keith Ausmus; stepson, Matthew Miracle; grandchildren, Mataya Ausmus and Alex Ausmus; siblings, Danny (Caroline) Carmack, Wanda Faye (Bob) Wells, Rondy Dean Johnson, Don Johnson, and Tim Holman as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
The family of Patsy Miracle will receive friends on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY.
A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. John Brown presiding. Music will be provided by the Old Yellow Creek Baptist Church choir.
