Patsy Jean (Myers) Moats, 89, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025 in her home. Born November 30, 1935 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Chalmer F. and Minnie Ella (Carbaugh) Myers.
She was employed as a supervisor for Eastern Products, Hagerstown, MD, and later retired as a supervisor for Handy and Harmon Auto, West Virginia. Patsy was a member of the Open Door Church, Chambersburg, and loved the Lord. Patsy loved playing cards and Yahtzee, shopping, going to yard-sales, making her infamous baked mac and cheese, being at the ocean, and more than anything spending time with her family.
She is survived by four children, Dianne K. Rzomp of Greencastle, PA, Christine J. Donzella and son-in-law John, Donald I. Moats, Jr., and Tina M. Moats all of Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Donald I. Moats, III and three sisters, Elaine Bloyer, Shirley Myers, and Pauline Summers.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 11, 2025 in The Open Door Church, 600 Miller Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Pastor Mike Sanders and Pastor Carl McKee officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday evening as well as one hour prior to the service, Friday morning, in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Open Door Church at the above address.
Patsy was blessed by having wonderful caregivers, Ariel, Seidy, and Nancy. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to each one of them as well as to the hospice nurses.
