Edmond Hunte

Edmond Manley Hunte, known as Eddie, was born in Kingston Jamaica, five days before Christmas in 1949. Edmond was the second child of Burdett Hunte and Claire Williams and shared his childhood with his elder sister, Marcia, and his younger brother, Edwin, known as Donovan.
Eddie migrated to Plainfield NJ in 1969 and made his living as a skilled craftsman. A few years later Eddie met Alma Tina Woolfork, they married and had Eddie's only child, Andre Hunte.
Eddie's happiest times were spent spinning his collection of Ska and Roots Reggae records, usually alongside his brother Donovan who passed on far too soon as well. Eddie also enjoyed the home cooked meals made by his mother Claire, and the family gatherings hosted by his sister Marcia. Through all the memories, stories and happiest times, Edmond Manley Hunte's proudest moment of was the birth of his only grandchild. Iam (pronounced E M) Hunte.
