Patsy Ruth Normand

Patsy Ruth Normand, was born in Camden, Arkansas to the late Clide Graham and Pinkie Marie Givens on November 28, 1939. She was raised by her great Uncle Chester and Aunt Almeda Graham on the family farm. It was here that she was also surrounded by her village of five aunts, seven uncles, and a host of cousins. Patsy was baptized at a very young age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Camden Arkansas. She later joined Adventure Church in Rocklin, California. Patsy attended Harmony Grove High School in Camden, Arkansas before attending the University of Pine Bluff A&M. It is there she met and married Tommy Lee Hicks Sr. in July 1958. They later divorced, but out of that union they bore five beautiful children; Tommy Jr., Gerard Sr., Gillean, and Deborah. Upon relocating to San Francisco California in 1959, Patsy quickly settled into building her life as a San Franciscan and working at the United States Post Office where she faithfully devoted 35 years of service. In 1972, Patsy met and married Felton Normand. They settled down in Daly City, California before relocating to Rocklin, California during their retirement years. For many years, Patsy was very active in community. She devoted her time to the Los Amigos Charity Club, where she raised money for seeing eye dogs for the disabled, which suited her servant heart. She was also a member of the Red Hat Club in Rocklin, California. Patsy was a true believer in helping those in need. Patsy was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grammy. Patsy is survived by her children Tommy L Hicks Jr. (Patrice), Gerard Hicks Sr., Gillean Vera (Augustine). Grandchildren, Cotarah (Noel) Beltran, Gerard Hicks Jr. (Christina) Krystal Baker, Allyson (Miguel) Perez, Ashley, Kortney and, Bianca Jones, Augustine, Thomas, Vera, Eliza (Julius) Casado. Great grandchildren, Alexander and Lillian Beltran, Sean and Vanessa Baker, Aaliyah and Michael Perez, Noel, Mimi, and Sarah Vera, Kahalil and Melina Casado, Nia, Bryson, and Kai Hicks, and Dominque Walker Jr. Patsy's sister Brenda Carson, her cousin Ellen Williams, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. All of whom she loved and touched deeply. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Felton Normand, her daughter Patrice Hicks, her sisters Jewel Lemons, Shirley Carson, Elaine Jabbar, and her beloved pets Bobo and Princess.
