Patsy Michael Orlando Sr, 94, of
New Castle, PA passed away on December 28, 2025 at the Haven Convalescent Home. Born October 7, 1931, in New Castle, Patsy was the son of Valentino and Annunziata (Lanzillo) Orlando who preceded him in death.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Mary Mother of Hope Church. Pat was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Club where he loved dancing, made lifelong friendships, and enjoyed the community there. Pat loved to cook, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees fan, and enjoyed spending time watching the games with his sons. Pat was a family man and a good friend to many. He was the type of person that was generous and always willing to help people. The saying goes he would give you the shirt off his back. He was that person.
Patsy was a supervisor in the steel industry for many years and retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tube with 33 years of service. He also worked for Warren Consolidated Industries for 10 years as an Electrical Engineer Supervisor. He was a master electrician and exceptional at his craft where his knowledge and expertise were instrumental in troubleshooting in keeping the steel mills up and running efficiently. He was also a licensed barber where he cut hair part time for many years at John's Barber Shop and then after his retirement at Frank Antuono's Barber shop.
In his free time, Pat could be found in his backyard where he spent hours in his garden which produced an overabundance every year and found joy in sharing his prize vegetables with family and friends.
Pat is survived by his daughter Nancy (Mark) Manifrang, sons Patsy (Laura) Orlando, Gary (Bernadette) Orlando, Valentino Orlando (Rhonda Trott), Danny (Joy) Bezak, and daughter Karen (Anthony) Feo, eight grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren, four sisters Nancy Jean Rich, Barbara Scheidemantle, Julia Conti, Linda (Dr. Richard) Micco, several nieces and nephews and former son-in-law and friend Joey Mastropetro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife Anna Orlando, two sisters Anna (Chuck) Johnston, Josephine (Ralph) Delio, and brothers-in-law Don Rich and Tom Scheidemantle.
Visitation is Friday, January 2, 2026 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 941 S. Mill Street, followed immediately by a Blessing Service at 3:00 pm officiated by Father Ben Barr. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Tanner family and exceptional staff at the Haven Convalescent Home for their genuine care and compassion to our father during his stay especially his nurses and aides who treated him with dignity, kindness, and companionship.
