Patsy "Pat" Monette Mayer

Patsy "Pat" Monette Mayer, 87, formerly of Sherwood, ND and Bottineau, ND, passed away peacefully in her home on December 2, 2025 in Fargo, ND.

Pat was born July 22, 1938 in Eden Valley Township, rural Sherwood, the youngest child of Albert (Bert) and Della (Simons) Henderson. She attended school at Sherwood High School.

Pat married the love of her life, Jerome Mayer, on June 14, 1955 at St. Jerome's Catholic Parsonage in Mohall, ND. Jerome passed away on April 26, 2004.

After raising her girls, Pat worked at the Sherwood Café, the Paragon Café and MTI in Mohall. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, crossword puzzles, TV game shows, playing cards, scrabble, and BINGO. She enjoyed genealogy and in 1986 complied and published a book of 10 generations of her Henderson family. Over the next several years, she completed 2 additional genealogy books. Pat loved spending time with her family. She was so proud of her 5 daughters and their families and every summer she looked forward to attending their annual family "Lake Week".

Pat is survived by and will be dearly missed by her daughters Paula Sheltrown, Monterey, CA; Pam (Rod) Lee, Blaine, MN; Patty (Kenny) Jensen, Powers Lake, ND; Sheila (Dave) Derr, Sturgis, SD and Katie Soderberg, Moorhead, MN. Grandchildren: Jason (Jenny) Jensen, Norwich, ND; Kristin (Jeremy) Lewandowski, Brooklyn Park, MN; Richard (Karla) Lee, Andover, MN; Tony (Katie Faye) Soderberg, Glyndon, MN; Sara (Aaron) Erickson, Powers Lake, ND; Elizabeth Monette Soderberg, Moorhead, MN; and Adam (Brandy) Derr, Walters, OK. Great-Grand Children: Shae (Derek) Weinreis and Camryn Volk; Henry, Anna and Grace Lewandowski; Sophia, Eli and Lucas Lee; Cooper, Tyson and Audrey Soderberg; Nic, Kate, Kynlee and Aaden Erickson; Logan Walkins and Eloise Soderberg. Great Great-Grandchildren: Reece and Trace Weinreis. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two infant sons, her sister and brother-in-law Maxine (Bobbi) and Gordon Smith; her brothers and their wives: Delbert and Lillian Henderson, Dean and Mavis Henderson, Bill and Doris Henderson, James and Dolores Henderson, and her sons-in-law Bruce Sheltrown and Terry Soderberg.

There will be a Celebration of Life held December 14th at 1:30 pm in the Rosewood room at the Trollwood Village, 3105 Broadway N., Fargo, ND with lunch to follow. Visitation will be held one hour prior. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.

Burial will take place at a later date at the Sherwood Union Cemetery.
