Patsy Patterson was born on January 8, 1931, in Pocahontas, Virginia and was raised in Bluefield, Virginia. She passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Ellen Scott (Harper), and her siblings, Lois (Crist), Alice (Janutolo), Dot Scott, and Jimmy Scott. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert W. Patterson; her daughters, Pepper (Jeff Shaner) and Pam (Michael Loftus); her grandsons, Josh Shaner, Sam Shaner (Sarah), Leo Loftus, and Wil Loftus; her great-grandchildren, Sophie Shaner and Riley Shaner; her sister, Jackie (Shively); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Shorty after graduating from high school, Patsy moved to Columbus, Ohio, beginning a life defined by curiosity, adventure, and a love of seeing new places. Throughout her life, she embraced travel and new experiences. She and her husband, Bob, made homes in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, and Kentucky, enjoying each chapter along the way before returning to Columbus in 2003 to retire. Together, they especially cherished cruises to the Caribbean.
Patsy delighted in life's finer pleasures. She enjoyed fine dining and shopping, had a keen eye for style, and never missed an opportunity to savor a good meal. An avid Bridge player, she loved the challenge and camaraderie of the game and deeply treasured Sunday dinner spent with family. Patsy will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, sharp mind, and the warmth she brought to those she loved.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 11am at St. Luke's Lutheran Church 4456 Morse Rd. Columbus, OH 43230. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
