Patsy (Patty) Lee Payne, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma January 31, 2026.

She was born on July 2, 1948, in St. Clair Missouri to Ralph and Thelma Hodgett.

Patty married Clarence Payne, together they built a life rooted in hard work and raising their family.

For the past 20 years, Patty made her home in Leslie Arkansas where she loved gardening, raising cattle and chicken. Farm life suited her well she took pride in tending the land and caring for her animals.

She was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Patty found joy in the simple blessing of everyday life and in caring for those she loved. She loved county music and dancing. If there was a good song playing, she was ready to move.

She also loved telling stories, and she had plenty of them. Sometimes the details were a little colorful, and you were never quite sure whether every part was true or part of her imagination. You learned to take her stories with a grain of salt, but they always brought laughter, and a little sparkle wherever she was. That was part of her charm.

She is survived by her four daughters: Wendy Payne, Moore, OK; Connie Payne Bridge creek, OK, Julie and Janet Payne Oklahoma City, OK.

Patty leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Micheal Payne, Ashley Platt, Danielle Platt, Corey Williamson, Austin Payne, Hunter Thephachanh Dallas Thephachanh, and London Thephachanh, Mariah Beach, Miranda Beach and Mary Ellen Duree, along with 10 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister, Jessie Dollard.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Dale Hodgett, Carolyn Hodgett, Michael Hodgett, Beverly Baker and Mary Ann Hodgett.

Patty will be deeply missed by her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and all who know her. Her strength, humor and unwavering love for her family will live on in generations she helped raise.

Mama, we love you more than words can say. Thank you for your sacrifices, your strength and the life you gave us.
