PAYTON, Mrs. Patsy R. - Age 89, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025 in
Grand Blanc, MI.
Family hour 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Daniel Smith, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy, Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 10:30 AM Tuesday. Mrs. Payton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Monday, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM
Mrs. Patsy Ruth Payton was born December 8, 1936 in
Toledo, OH. The daughter of Pauline Hartwell and Arthur Morris peacefully transitioned from this life on December 27, 2025. She spent the majority of her life in
Flint, Michigan where she built a legacy rooted in faith, family and love.
She was employed at General Motors, working at the V8 Engine Plant for 29 years where she was respected for her strong work ethic and commitment. Outside of work Patsy embraced life with enthusiasm and style. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, cooking and catering and was known as a fashionista who always carried herself with grace above all. She treasured her role as a wife, a mother , grandmother, and a great-grandmother, pouring love, wisdom and joy into her family.
A devoted woman of God who formerly attended First Union Missionary Baptist Church and Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. She joyfully served in the church choir lifting her voice in praise, and dedicated her time working in the church kitchen, lovingly serving others through hospitality. Her faith was not only spoken, it was lived.

Flint, MI. Eileen Poplar, Carolyn Gause, Rosita (Sims) Johnson, Delores (Hudie) Langston, Arleen Smoot, Karen (Thomas) Rawls all of
Flint, Mi, Lori Harvey of Atlanta, GA, Kris Harvey of Dallas, TX; 6 nephews, Anthony Hartwell, Edward (Flu) Hartwell of
Flint, MI, Michael Hartwell of Ann Arbor, MI, Ronald Scott of
Toledo, OH, Norman Harvey, Eric (Lela) Harvey, and a host of other relatives and friends including special friends; Betty Johnson Lamar, Beverly Henley, Shirley Stitt, and Tammy (Timothy) Peacock.
Patsy Ruth Payton was preceded in death by Parents, Pauline Hartwell and Arthur Morris; husband, James Payton; Son, David Miller; brother, Arthur Miller; granddaughter, Sharonel Williams; Grandson, Kaylon Ross-Howell; Step-daughter, Janice Bradley; nephew, Richard Miller; Great-nephew Steven Hartwell; Beloved dogs, Tippy and Chico.
