Patsy "Patti" Phariss, 70, passed away on February 5, 2025, in Tuscola, Texas. A visitation will be held at Fry-Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 11 from 5-7pm. A graveside service will be held at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, February 12 at 1:00pm.
Born on July 15, 1954, in Odessa, Texas, Patti lived a life full of love, passion, and dedication to her family and community.
Patti is survived by her loving husband, JC Phariss Jr., with whom she built a life filled with cherished memories. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Rena Lopez and her husband Joe, and Tracie Dowdy and her husband Mitch; as well as her sons, Justin Phariss and his wife Stacey, and Adam Houst and his wife Kayla. She was also deeply loved by her father, EJ Williams; her brothers Dwayne Williams, James Williams, and Wesley Williams; eight grandchildren-Dakota Lopez, Dalton Lopez, Hayleigh Espitia, Jessica Feist, Adam Phariss, Hanna Register, Hailey Register, and Hudson Register; and five great-grandchildren-Olivia Lopez, Declan Lopez, Aspen Espitia, with two more little ones on the way.
She was preceded in death by her mother Patsy Williams and stepfather Jack Williams; stepmother Sue Williams; sisters Thressa Phariss and Cynthia Looper; and brother Billy Jack Slaughter.
Patti had an undeniable zest for life. A devoted Elvis Presley fan, she made an annual pilgrimage to Graceland for Elvis Week-a tradition that brought her immense joy. Her enthusiasm extended beyond music to her local community; she was a steadfast supporter of Jim Ned sports and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the teams. Patti also had a heart for service-she dedicated over 14 years to delivering meals through Meals on Wheels, ensuring that those in need were cared for with warmth and kindness.
Known for being big-hearted yet fiery in spirit, Patti was honest to the core and loved fiercely. Her presence lit up every room she entered, leaving an unforgettable mark on those fortunate enough to have known her.
May the memory of Patti Phariss bring comfort to all who loved her.
