Patsy Gail Phifer, 80, of Comanche, passed away on November 2, 2025, in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, Thursday, November 6, 2025, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX.
Funeral Service/Celebration of Life will be 10:00am Friday, November 7, 2025, at First Baptist Church,1002 Litel St, Buffalo Gap, TX. with Pastor Chuck Gilliland, officiating. Burial to follow at Buffalo Gap Cemetery. Arrangements are with The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Patsy was born in Dallas, TX., to Willie M. Smith and Margaret Helen (Watts) Smith on September 5, 1945. She went to school in Dallas and graduated from Kimball High School in 1963.
Patsy married Willie Phifer Jr., on June 20, 1964, in Dallas. Patsy worked in the administration accounting fields throughout her career. The place that she was most proud of was Comanche County Treasurer. She loved her courthouse family and cherished the many friendships she made with the other Treasurers across the State especially the Region 6 treasurers.
Patsy was a selfless individual and always had a smile on her face. She found joy in supporting her family, especially her granddaughter, always cheering her onward. She was a devoted mother, mother-in-law and Grammy.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Helen Smith, brother-in-law; Terry Goodwin and a special friend, Pete Boutross.
She will be remembered for her deep faith, loving heart and devotion to her family and community.
Patsy is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Creek and husband, Jamey; her sister; Sadie Goodwin; her granddaughter; Rylee Creek and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jay Goodwin, Alex Goodwin, Jamey Creek, John Watson and Noah Crownover.
Memorials made be made to American Cancer Society or to Comanche Co. Volunteer Fire Department or Buffalo Gap Volunteer Fire Department.
