Patsy Grace Phillips

August 31, 1934 - April 7, 2026

Patsy Grace Phillips, 91, of Beaumont, Texas passed away at Baptist Hospital surrounded by family after a sudden illness. Patsy was born to Wilmer Thomas "Buster" Grace and Erma Lee Grace on August 31 st, 1934, in Lufkin, Texas. Patsy graduated from Lufkin High School in 1951.

Patsy was a mother to four children and in the early 1980's and 1990's with her late husband, Gerald Phillips, who were devoted grandparents in their early 50's willingly and graciously stepped in to raise their two grandchildren, Adrian and Tiffany. Patsy's love and dedication to her family was unmatched. Patsy and her husband participated in a variety of community service programs, events and charities including Boys' Haven in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Homework Haven at College Oaks Elementary in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to assist students with after school tutoring services since Patsy valued children having an education and good values, and even continued the community service work by opening a local domino parlor known as A& TJ's where retired friends of the Lake Charles Chapter of the IBEW could gather and socialize for free. After moving back to Texas, Patsy continued her volunteer work in the community to include being the "grandmother" to the children of North Early Learning Center in Orange, Texas. This allowed her to be closer to her great-granddaughter Jaymee, and to be a supportive figure in the lives of other children.

Patsy is proceeded in death by her parents, Wilmer Thomas "Buster" Grace, and Erma Lee Grace; husband, Gerald Phillips; sister, Delores Sherman; daughters, Shirlee Pearson and Sheila Pearson.

Patsy is survived by her daughter, Sherry Hopkins and husband, David, of The Woodlands, Texas; son, William Pearson and wife, Darlene Pearson, of Mauriceville, Texas. Grandchildren, David, Richard, Heather, Adrian, Tiffany, Danielle, Nicole and Amanda, eleven great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Phillips will be announced at a later date. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard's Crematorium under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
