Patsy Ramey Obituary
Patsy was of the Christian Faith and former employee of Grundy Drug. She enjoyed traveling, watching old Western's, and flower gardening, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially, her grandbabies. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
In addition to her parents Floyd and Gertrude Sykes, she is preceded in death by special grandson Brandon Dwayne Ramey and sisters Lillie Jane Crowe and Sue Sykes.
Survivors include her daughters Deanna Shawn Ramey Shortt and husband John P. of Grundy, VA, Tonya Denise Ramey Ward of Summersville, SC, Kamryn Jean Ramey of Grundy, VA; sons Dwayne Edward Ramey and wife Teresa Jill of Grundy, VA, Cameron Ellis Ramey of Grundy, VA; brother Major Budley Lee Sykes of Lebanon, VA.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Brett Ryan Ramey, twins Cody Aaron Ramey and Chase Austin Ramey, Jordan Ramey, Emilee Brooke Shortt, Haley Ridley, Jansen Ward, Tanner Ramey, Jasmine Elswick, thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Patsy Jean Ramey will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home, Grundy, VA with Pastor Eugene Whited officiating.
Graveside Services will be conducted on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Counts Cemetery, 19297 Brumley Gap, Abingdon, VA with burial to follow.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 22, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. until the funeral hour of 7:00 p.m.
