Patsy Chambers-Ratliff, the daughter of the late James Chambers Sr. and Nannie B. Patterson-Chambers entered this life on November 26, 1949, in Hackensack, NJ.
Patsy's education started in P.S. #6, and she then attended and graduated from Passaic High School, Passaic, NJ.
Mrs. Ratliff was employed part time with the State of New Jersey State Labor Department, located in Passaic, NJ. After graduating from High School, she became a full-time employee where she was employed for 43 years with the Labor Department Division of Unemployment.
Patsy received Christ at an early age and was Baptized at Union Baptist Church of Passaic, under the Pastoral Leadership of the late Rev. T.H. Alexander. As a child she enjoyed singing on the choir, going to Sunday School and Bible Class.
She was united into holy matrimony to the late James A. Ratliff.
On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Patsy departed this life.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Essie and Garris Patterson; Parents James E. and Nannie B. Chambers Sr.; Brother, William Chambers; Sister, Martha D. Harris; two nephews: and a niece.
She leaves to mourn: two daughters, Andrea L. Ratliff of San Antonio, TX and Sonja L. Ratliff of South Hackensack, NJ; one son Joshua A. (Cherry) Ratliff of Little Ferry, NJ; three grandchildren, Leyla Sampson, Kamdv Cephus and Yuiri Anantasub; four brothers: James E. (Vanecia) Chambers jr. of Paterson, NJ; Jerald W. Chambers of Englewood, NJ, Harold S. Chambers of Conyers, GA and Marvin E. Chambers of Englewood, NJ; four sisters, Vivian D. Corbin of Hackensack, NJ, Letha L. (Ronald) Smith of Hempstead, NY, Ella Jackson of Newark, NJ and Theresa (Alvin) Kerr of Raleigh, NC. She has two Godchildren, Hanan and Caillou Boykin, both of Syracuse, NY; a devoted niece like a daughter Liza Acquah, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, church family and a host of friends.
She leaves a deep compassion, like a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Johnson of Mt. Holly, NJ and she made a difference in the lives of others.
Patsy positively impacted the lives of so many, may her legacy live on.
