Patsy Kirkland Ray, a matriarch and cherished friend, left her earthly body to join her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 66. Born on October 24, 1958, in Claxton, Georgia, Patsy was a humble, bright spirit whose warmth radiated through interactions and moments shared with family and friends.

Patsy was a graduate of the Glennville High School Class of 1976, embarking on a rewarding life characterized by the deep pride she took in her family, particularly her grandchildren, whom she adored wholeheartedly. Her legacy is profoundly woven into the lives of those she leaves behind. Her devotion to them epitomized her ability to put others ahead of herself.

Patsy served the farming community alongside her family as secretary of Ray Farms, where her dedication and diligence contributed to the well-being of the family business she loved. However, it was in her personal life that she truly flourished. Patsy found immense joy in spending time with her family, conducting church activities, cooking delicious meals, and indulging in shopping—all pursuits that brought her closer to her loved ones and her church community.

Her unwavering faith guided her, as she deeply loved the Lord and valued her church family at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church. The memories created through her numerous acts of kindness will forever be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Patsy leaves behind her devoted husband of 47 years, Danny Ray, alongside her daughters and sons-in-law, Bridgette and Michael Sapp, and Whitney and Keith Groover, whose lives will forever bear the imprint of her love and nurturing. Her grandsons that were her heart and soul, Gavin, Grant, and Gabe Sapp, Brantley, and Hayden Groover. Also holding her memory close are her loving step-father, Ernest Kight of Metter, Georgia; her sisters, Cindy Mann (Johnny) of Greenville, South Carolina, and Lorre Ellis (Barry) of Macon, Georgia; her step-sister, Cathy Kight of Metter, Georgia; her cherished mother-in-law and father-in-law, Avon and Annette Ray; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Rhonda Ray; a dear friend, Ann Waters, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who were enriched by her presence.

She is preceded in death by her father, Oscar Kirkland Jr., her mother, Carolyn Sands Kight, and her maternal grandparents, Lenora "Doll" and Harry Sands.

A visitation for Patsy will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 PM. Burial will be in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to: Watermelon Creek Baptist Church, 8882 GA Hwy 144, Glennville, Georgia 30427.
