Mrs. Patsy Rea, aged 90, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in her home.
Born in Centerville, MS, on Valentine’s Day 1935, Patsy graduated from Baton Rouge High School and went on to graduate from the Mather School of Nursing, Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans in 1958. While there she met the love of her life, Charles Rea, at the Baptist Student Union. They were married for over 67 years. Pat devoted her life to the Lord and her family. She was a full-time mom until her two children graduated from college and then she took a job in the nursing field at Dr Fentons, where she worked for many years. She volunteered many hours to the church teaching Sunday School to 4th graders, working in the nursery, hosting many events in her home. In her free time, she and Charles enjoyed antiquing, skiing, going to Branson with friends, and traveling the globe to places such as China, Russia, Israel, Egypt, England, and many other countries.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Rea; and parents, Arthur and Virginia Bagwell.
She is survived by her son Charles (Chuck) Rea II; daughter-in-law, Laurie Rea; daughter, Wendy Rea MacKay; son-in-law David MacKay; and granddaughter, Ellen Rea.
She left a lasting legacy with her love, her smile, and her love for Jesus which she shared with all and will be missed.
