Ms. Patsy Ann Richards, 80, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on Sunday, October 30, from 3:00-6:00pm and on Monday, October 31, from 10:00-11:00am with the service beginning in the chapel at 11:00am.
Ms. Richards was born on August 14, 1942, to her parents Jerome and Myrtle Gatewood. Patsy spent her early years in the Harperville Community. She has lived in the Pearl area for the past 40 or more years. She loved her family and friends, especially, her grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing yard work and working in her flower beds. She was an avid gardener; actually, winning “Yard of the Month” many times. Ms. Patsy had a heart for animals too. She loved birds, especially her parrot, TK and her fur babies. She enjoyed a great home cooked meal in which she could make a good one if you ever were blessed to eat at her table. She loved people and never met a stranger.
Ms. Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Myrtle Gatewood and her daughter, Sonya Marie Richards. Those left to cherish her memories: her partner in life for 44 years, William Byrd of Florence; children, Tim (Mary) Richards of Richland, Kevin Richards of Pearl, Jeff Richards of Brandon, Michelle (Willie) Chase of Brandon and Keith Richards of Pearl; grandchildren: Jeremy and Shelbie Richards, Peyton and Averi Furrer, and John Walter and Colton Chase; great-grandchild, Landry Snell.
