Patsy Rosenstein Obituary

Patsy Rosenstein

Patsy Alice (Marlowe) Rosenstein of Newton, NC, died valiantly Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born June 21, 1943, she was the daughter of her late beloved mother, Alice Mozelle (Sims) Marlowe and treasured father, Earl Pinkney Marlowe. Her adoring children, Michael Newton and Alison Newton survive her along with her brother, Bob Marlowe and wife, Gaye; longtime companion, Charles Abernethy; and her adoring dogs, Evy and Toby, who miss her sweet nurturing, loving ways as will all who ever got to know Patsy.

A lifelong entrepreneur and business woman, Patsy was Co-Founder and Admissions Director of Anew Vision Academy of Newton for 15 years, was a Mediator for the Conflict Resolution Center, 36th Judicial District of North Carolina, Regional Sales Director for airline training schools Southeastern Academy and Weaver Airline Personnel School. Her experiences included owning an International Swimwear Import company, a Caribbean Sportswear Boutique, a Tanning Salon, and work as a Law Firm Consultant, Photographer's Assistant and Model.

Patsy supported many philanthropies and churches. Among her favorites was the Crossnore Baptist Church - Communities for Children Orphanage. A devoted volunteer, she worked with various organizations including Meals on Wheels, Potter's Ranch in Kentucky and the CARE Team for the Christian Motorcyclists Association.

Growing up in Newton, Patsy was very active, athletically, musically and artistically. She played high school basketball, clarinet and was Drum Majorette, sang in choir, danced in ballet and tap, participated in various pageants and became a beautiful piano player, which she continued to enjoy throughout her life. Among her gifts was an ability to connect with people, make them feel seen, heard and special. Patsy created many treasured deep friendships that are eternal.

Her incredible journey took her to many places, but she always loved her little town which ultimately brought her home to Newton for the last twenty-eight years. Always a devoted Mother, providing incredible support and love, her joyful outlook, sense of humor, devotion to others and relationship with her Heavenly Father embody the essence of her incredible life.

The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at Catawba Memorial Park, 3060 US Hwy 70 SE, Hickory, NC 28602.
