Patsy Booher Russell, 92, passed away on December 11, 2023, at her home at Lyndale Senior Living in San Angelo.
She was born on January 7, 1931, in Plainview, TX to John and Tessa Miller Booher. She had one sibling, Mary Lynn.
Patsy loved to paint and was an amazing artist. Although her mother initially thought she should pursue a different path, upon selling her first painting, her mother remarked, "Well, I suppose you do have some talent." Linda still has a room in her house dedicated to Patsy's art, including the first painting she did of a fruit bowl with pastels and the last one of flowers that hung above her bed.
Patsy married James Russell on November 26, 1949, in Plainview. Together, they had three children, Linda, Rodger, and Trent. They moved their family to San Angelo in December 1969. The family was very happy and loving. They enjoyed spending their time camping, being at the lake, hunting, fishing, skiing, and spending time with their extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James, and her parents.
Patsy is survived by her children, Linda Russell Schulman of Santa Fe, NM, Rodger Russell of Lubbock, TX, and Trent Russell of New Braunfels, TX; grandchildren, Shea Perry of San Angelo, Ethan Schulman of Austin, Julie Russell, and Jenna Russell of New Braunfels; two great-grandchildren, Haylie Perry, and Hayden Perry of San Angelo; her sister Mary Lynn Parsley of Midland; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Harper Funeral Home with Bryan Elliot officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held in the Concho Room at the Fairfield Inn and Suites, 1459 Knickerbocker Rd, San Angelo, TX.
If you would like, donations can be made to Rust Street Ministries, a community outreach program, or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Sarah Burkes at Shannon Medical Center, Gentiva Hospice, Lyndale Senior Living and Linda Olesh, and finally her caregiver, Hope, for being the angel that was needed in her last year.
