Patsy Saunders

Patsy Saunders, 88, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Tuesday February 17, 2026.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Paul Reese Saunders, as well as her parents, Roy and Nettie Hedger, and two brothers, Roy Jr. and Charles Hedger. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Ann (Stanley) Benton and her daughters; Lou Ann (Henry) Allen and Patty (the late George) Perry as well as her five grandchildren, Paul (Michelle) Allen, Chris (Sara) Allen, Rebecca (Jeremy) Shryock, Patrick (Kaitlyn) Perry, Emily (Michael) Benedict; eleven great-grandchildren: Reese and Gage Allen, Ann Lawrence and Addison Allen, Jackson, Drew, and Colt Shryock, Emilia Perry, Thomas, J.W., and Annie Benedict, and one great-great grandchild, Leighton Lane Shryock. Patsy is also survived by several very special nieces and nephews.

Patsy was a devoted and active member of Wesley Covenant Fellowship Church as well as a volunteer at Central Baptist Hospital for over 10 years. She was also a bookkeeper for S&B Cattle Co. in Lexington, Kentucky.

Lovingly known as "Muner" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she spent countless hours ring-side at cattle and horse shows, sitting in the stands or on the bleachers watching sports, or in the kitchen baking their favorite treats.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made Bluegrass Care Navigators, Frankfort Division, 643 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601 or the Wesley Covenant Fellowship Church in Versailles, Kentucky.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home, 161 Broadway Street, Versailles, Kentucky on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm with services to follow at 4:00pm. A private burial will be held at Rose Crest Cemetery. Friends and family are encouraged to leave messages of condolence and share memories here on Patsy's tribute wall.
