Patsy Searcy, passed away peacefully in Fort Worth, Texas, on January 25, 2024, at the age of 86.
Visitation will be held at Willow Park Baptist Church on February 5, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Funeral: 2 p.m. February 5, 2024, at Willow Park Baptist Church, 777 Crown Pointe Blvd, Willow Park, Texas. Graveside: 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas. Pastor Clark Bosher will officiate the funeral ceremony and Pastor David Allen to officiate the graveside service.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pat Searcy's life.
Pat was born July 22, 1937, in Eastville, Virginia, to Harley Lee Hopper and Ruby Lee Carroll Hopper. She graduated from Northampton High School in Eastville, VA. She married Larry Searcy her senior year, while he was in the U.S. Coast Guard stationed on the Eastern Shore. Once Larry completed his commitment to the Coast Guard, they moved to Texas along with their firstborn son Gary. Over time, the couple welcomed four more children. Pat's children remember her as a kind, gentle, very patient mother, who was truly committed to her family.
She played the piano in her early years. Her interest continued to grow in gardening/plants, oil painting, and crocheting Afghans and she made many quilts. She was a member of Retta Baptist Church in Burleson, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harley Lee Hopper and Ruby Lee Carroll Hopper; husband, Larry Searcy; son, Ronald Lee Searcy; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Ruth Smith; and grandson, Johnnie Metcalf.
She is survived by her son, Gary Searcy; her daughters, Gwen Bouwkamp and husband, Doug of Fort Worth, Jennifer Smith and husband, Bill of Weatherford, Stephanie Townzen and husband, Richard; her sister, Jo Ann Dascomb; brother, James Hopper, and wife, Debbie, of Eastville, Virginia. Pat has 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
