It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia “Patsy” Waag Shaw announces her passing on June 7, 2025, at the age of 82, at home, with the love of her life by her side.

Patsy was born on January 27, 1943. From that day forward, she brought joy, happiness, and much laughter into our lives. Born in Mineral Wells, TX to Carl Waag and Betty Strauch Waag, she moved to Cheyenne, WY in 1953. At 19, Patsy, along with her ‘57 turquoise Chevy 2-door hardtop, caught the eye of Gary, whom she would marry just five months later, on December 22, 1962, in Cheyenne, WY.

Patsy spent 30 years in the banking industry, retiring from Wells Fargo as a Senior Vice President. She was known by her peers for her dedication to clients and the community.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Gary Shaw; children: Trisha Triplett and Damon (Gabrielle); grandchildren: Taran (Bailey), Damon (Dami), Deion (Treena); three great-granddaughters; sister, Connie (Rex); half-siblings: Sherrie and Kim; four nephews, two nieces, as well as numerous relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her mom, dad, loving sister, Carla, and stepbrothers, Marvin and Elton.

There was never a dull moment when you were around Patsy. She always lit up the room, made you laugh with her quick wit, and truly lived life. Whether it was during her travels to all 50 states by car, motorhome, or motorcycle; catching a NASCAR race at one of the 19 tracks she visited to cheer on number 48; or rooting for her beloved Denver Broncos, there was always a good time if you were part of Patsy’s many adventures.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cheyenne Regional Foundation, with a designation to the Davis Hospice Center. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Davis Hospice Center for their care and compassion

Patsy’s laughter, kindness, and zest for life and family were gifts to everyone who knew her. A celebration of Patsy’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at Sanford’s in Cheyenne.
