Patsy Kate Simister, age 83, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at her home in St. George, Utah surrounded by family. She was born August 1st, 1942 in Coallville, Utah to Gene and Neta Pace.
Patsy grew up in Wanship, Utah, spending her days practicing piano and happily working on the farm alongside her dad. Growing up she was known for her speed-both for running and typing. She met her husband Kent Simister in first grade at North Summit Elementary. They were sealed many years later in the Salt Lake Temple December 13, 1963.
Patsy was devoted to her husband Kent, and their five children; Jeff, Doug, Tami, Brad and Steve who she raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She found great joy in her growing posterity which includes 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Patsy had a remarkable ability to get things done, whether it was her husband, children or grandchildren they knew they could count on her to help accomplish any task. She always had a cheery disposition and created a welcoming and loving home. She lived her faith daily and was steadfast in her service to her family, neighbors, and friends. She especially loved serving in the temple together with her husband. They served many years in the Las Vegas temple and more recently in the Red Cliff’s temple in St George.
She is survived by her husband, R. Kent Simister, children Jeffrey Simister (Buffy), Doug Simister (Michelle), Tami Madsen (Roger), Brad Simister (Sondra), and Steve Simister (Margarita).
