Patsy J. Simpson, 86 of Rushville, IL passed away Friday, March 28, 2020, at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born on December 13,1938 in Macomb, IL, the daughter of Leslie and Ruth Long Cameron. She married Lee Simpson on May 28, 1978, in Macomb, IL. Lee passed away December 3, 2003. She is survived by of Rushville, IL;(3) sisters-in-law, Patsy Dotzert, Janet Simpson and Marian Mellor, her two "grocery boys" Nicholas Mellor & Codey Bullard, and many nieces and nephews. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Harold Peters; (5) brothers, Leslie Cameron, Jr., Stanley Cameron, Albert Peters, James Peters, and George Peters; (6) sisters, Noami Cameron, Wanda Teel, Alma Richardson, Charlotte Ford, Mary Dean, and Mariam Wilcox; (1) brother-in-law, Joe Simpson, Jerry Dotzert and Jim Mellor. Patsy graduated from Macomb High School and worked at Kelly's Café, Praline Factory, and the Hemp Factory all in Macomb. She graduated from St. Anthony Nursing School in Rock Island, IL. She worked at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville and Hills Nursing Home for 17 years. She also did private health care for many years. Later in her life she worked for Feigl's Food Center for 10 years and at Casey's General Store for 2 years before retiring. Patsy loved crocheting and quilting. Cremation has been accorded. A graveside funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at Behtany Cemetery with Pastor Fred Fritz officiating. Memorials may be given to Schuyler County Humane Society.
