Patsy Marie Smith

It is with  heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patsy Marie Smith a  beloved mother, grandmother, and sister who departed this life on January 17, 2025 at the age of 76. She was born  on March 7, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana to John and Ordine Gaspard. 

Patsy was known for collecting Avon bottles, reading books and spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her children, Tonia Crockett (Robert), Bernard Smith Jr. (Rita), and Michelle Langford (Kenny), who will deeply miss their mother's love and guidance. Patsy was a proud grandmother to Erick Sharp Jr., Robbie Crockett, Keagan Smith, Shelby Turgeau and Cameron Langford, as well as her great-grandchildren; Brennan Sharp, Natalie Alexie, River Crockett, Charlie Turgeau, and George Lee Turgeau Jr. She also leaves behind her loving siblings Darnell Gaspard (Chuck), Cheryl Gaspard Rindflesch (Mike) and sister-in-law Ann Gaspard. 

She is preceded in death by her parents John Gaspard and Ordine Gaspard, her beloved husband, Bernard Smith Sr., her brothers; Glenn Gaspard and Willard Gaspard, as well as her great-grandchild Kaylee Sharp. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a Wake on Friday January 24, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. with a service starting at 7:45 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435. A private burial will take place at a later time. 

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Jude’s in her memory. 

Patsy Marie Smith will be missed by her many family members and friends, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
