Patsy Valentine Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Robbins Brothers Funeral Home - Benton Harbor on Oct. 17, 2022.
..."Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself."
"And who is my neighbor?"
Daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor; Patsy Venoy Valentine, of Benton Harbor, Michigan, transitioned on October 11, 2022, after 90 God-fearing, loving, caring, and nurturing years on this earthly home.
Patsy was born December 29, 1931, in Marianna, Arkansas, the fourth child of the late Emmett Sr and Laura Lee Bennett. She found her faith and love for the Lord at an early age. She was a member of the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Benton Harbor, Michigan, until her transition.
Patsy was educated in the Marianna Public Schools, after which she was employed in various fields never tiring in her efforts to provide and care for her family as well as friends. Later in life she was employed at Modern Plastics until her retirement.
Patsy was renowned for her incredible culinary prowess and skillfully wielded its power to assemble family and friends thus fostering Christian fellowship, love, comradery, and by extension, as she would put it, "trying to raise 'them' kids right." Her acclaimed and exceedingly succulent dishes were Peach Cobbler, Butter roll, Cheesecake, and Pound Cake; Patsy in her constant quest to live the life of a neighbor as described by Christ, would provide a meal or a place to stay for those in need. Patsy consistently stressed the need to love one another, having a relationship with God, and "Getting some good book learning because it is very important."
