Patsy Wagner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dahl Funeral Chapel - Billings on Sep. 13, 2025.
Patsy Kay Wagner, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Billings Clinic on September 9th, 2025.

She was born on January 9th, 1936, to Leroy and Christena Green in Billings, Montana. Patsy was the fourth of four girls. She grew up in Laurel and Park City, Montana. She attended elementary school in Laurel, and her high school years were spent in Park City.

Following high school, Patsy married her high school sweetheart, John E. Wagner, on October 18th, 1953. John's career with the railroad took them several places, including Laurel, MT., Villa Park, Ill., Bismarck, N.D. and finally back home to Billings.

John and Patsy had three children, Bonnie, Twila, and Scott, and were married 41 years before John's passing in 1994.

Patsy's culinary talents were many. She was well known for her hearty dinners and her tasty pies, hand-decorated cakes, and custom cookies. Many in the family came to simply call her "the cook". This was a nickname and a skill that was well-suited to their many camping adventures. Her love for Yellowstone Park was passed on to her children along with a deep love and faith in Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

Patsy is preceded in death by her husband, John, and her sisters, Georgia Speare, Bobbie Harper, and Lila McKinney. She is survived by daughters Bonnie McGinnis (Denny), Twila Mapston (Kelly,) and her son Scott. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life service for Patsy will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 18th, at Faith Evangelical Church, 3145 Sweetwater Drive. Arrangements by Dahl Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Faith Evangelical Church.
