Services for Patsy McDow Ward will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Hilliard Funeral Home with a graveside to follow at Union Chapel Cemetery. Pastor Brad Williams will officiate the services with her cousin, JD Mayo assisting. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Hilliard Funeral Home.
Patsy L. McDow Ward was born October 1, 1936 in Van Zandt County, Texas to the late C.W. McDow and Alvie L. Brown McDow. She has been a resident of Ben Wheeler since 1983, formerly living in Tyler for some time. She worked for both Chandler ISD & Brownsboro ISD in food service. She was a member of The Church of Garden Valley and Galena Full Gospel Church for many years prior.
Patsy passed away at the age of 86 on September 27, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, James L. Ward; grandson, Jason Roberts; sister, Wanda Ritch; and brother, Danny McDow.
Survivors include her children, Janet Hinojosa and husband, Mando, Timothy Ward, Randy Ward and wife, Lynn, and Tony Ward and wife Lara, all of Ben Wheeler; grandchildren, Josh Gentry, Jacob Gentry, James Ward, Jason Ward, Harley Bennefield, Micheal Ward, Anthony Ward, Patrick Ward, Rebecca Ward Roberts, Kara Ward, Shane Ward, Mario Hinojosa and Mando Hinojosa Jr.; numerous great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Josh Gentry, Jacob Gentry, James Ward, Jason Ward, Micheal Ward, Anthony Ward and Patrick Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Rebecca Roberts, Kara Ward, Mando Hinojosa, Jr., Mario Hinojosa, Glen Golden, Ronnie Golden, Terry Taylor, Brad Taylor and Greg Thompson.
