Patsy Delrena Black-Wells, 83, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Patsy was born on May 31, 1941, to Evelyn and Hiram Black Sr. She grew up in Harlan, Kentucky, and spent her adult life in Franklin and later Dayton, Ohio. She had a long and successful career at Chrysler Corporation, where she retired after 30 years. In her retirement, she enjoyed researching her genealogy and lineage, as well as revisiting her hometown in Kentucky.
She was an avid reader and amateur cake baker with a green thumb. Patsy had a quick sense of humor and a laugh that could light up a room. She never met a stranger, especially if there was time to share a cup of coffee.
Patsy is survived by her daughter, Carla Clay; granddaughters, Amanda and Caitlin Clay; and great-grandchildren, Willard and Ruby Hatton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Hiram Black Sr.; brothers, Hiram Jr. and Charles Black; and sister, Beverly McQuinn.
A service and funeral will be held on March 4, 2025, at Newcomer North DaytonChapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.
