Patsy Lou Woods

Patsy Woods, age 80 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away at Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehab on April 17, 2025. She was born in Franklin, IN on May 29, 1944, daughter of the late Elva Jess and Mary Frances Nalley Shartzer. Patsy was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She was a former custodian at Milner Elementary School, as well as a bus driver. She was the owner and operator of The Malt Shop and retired from Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehab, where she was an LPN for many years. Patsy enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casino, crocheting and yard sales. She enjoyed planning parties for her family. She and her husband enjoyed playing Rook and participated in many tournaments. She wanted to be on the go as much as possible and was a people person, which made her so good with the residents of the nursing home where she worked.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Charlie Riley and siblings Ray and Johnnie Shartzer.
Patsy is survived by her husband Charles Woods of Hardinsburg, KY.

4 grandchildren: Tiffany Osborne, Dylan Osborne (Erin), Cascy Burden and Kevin Burden
4 sisters: Jean Morton of Brandenburg, KY; Frances Smith of Garfield, KY; Joyce Kiper and Fay Kinnerson (David) of Hardinsburg, KY

Funeral services will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 11 AM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, 3:30 – 8 PM and Tuesday at the church from 9 – 11 AM. All times are central.
