Patsy Smith Worley, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Gibson House in Wentworth.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Jon Worley. The graveside committal will follow the service at Reidlawn Cemetery on Barnes Street in Reidsville.
Patsy was born in Rockingham County to the late John and Doris Smith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and bonus mom to many. She worked at Corning Glass until she became a mother and then embraced being a homemaker for her family. During those years she started driving a school bus for Rockingham County Schools for over 20 Years and served the Ruffin community as a firefighter and EMT. The family enjoying raising English bulldogs and showed them over much of the east coast. Patsy had a passion for cooking and sharing that love with others, working at different restaurants and events in the community. Above all else, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and loved ones. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Archie Worley and brother, Bobby Smith.
Patsy is survived by her son, Jon Worley (Heather);step sons, Dennis Worley (Frances), Jeffrey Worley (Vonda), Greg Worley (Judy); grandchildren, Bryson Worley, Katie Green, Abbie Green, Jennifer Kearns (Eugene), Heather Hylton (Mark), Jake Worley (Brooke), Madison Worley, Lauren Ortiz (Matias), and Brittany Worley; great grandchildren, Carson, Calier, Levi, Evan, Caleb, Hunter, Cora, Kaitlin and Bentley; sister Sandra Bolden (David) as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
