Patsy Jo Wright, 67, of Gainesville, Tx, entered through the pearly gates to join her Heavenly Father on July 31, 2025. She was born on March 5, 1958, in Pilot Point, Tx, to the late Ralph and Ora Wooten.
Patsy grew up in Collinsville, Tx and attended church in Tioga where she was a part of their Kid's Crusade and met some great people and friends.
A devoted mother and nana, Patsy's greatest joy was her family. She loved to celebrate them and never missed making or providing a birthday dinner for her kids and grandkids. She always wanted to make sure they knew how much they were loved.
Above all, Patsy loved the Lord and was a devout Christian. Her faith was her anchor through life and brought her through many difficult times. She was a living miracle.
Another joy of hers was music. After two piano lessons, she became one of the greatest pianists around. She loved to play the piano at church and did so for many years and often with her daughter singing. Her piano playing brought so much warmth and happiness to our lives.
Patsy loved spending time in the country and outdoors when she could. She also adored cardinals and hummingbirds and watching them on her back porch. She always made sure to have a bag of bird seed and sugar water.
Her love for others, caring heart, and witty sarcasm (which has been passed down to the next generations) will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Josh Wooten, Cody Wooten, and Heather Wright, her grandchildren, Cameron Murphy and fiancé Molly Gray, Nathan Wooten, and Lily Wright, her sister, Glenda Rathburn, and her brother Bill Wooten and wife Lou, and numerous, deeply loved nieces and nephews and family members.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her sisters, Betty Roberts, Alice Roberts, Peggy Shaw, Joyce Hood, Shirley Arrington, and Vickie Tischler and her brothers, Randy Wooten, and Bobby Wooten along with many other family members she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Crossroads Church, 2600 US HWY 82, Whitesboro, Texas, followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00PM.
